The Masterclass ‘Re-presentation’ conducted by the visual artist Barbara Visser (Dutch, °1966) will critically fit in with diverse aspects of the research project ‘UnScene. Jewellery and Presentation’ (organized by the Jewellery Design / Silversmithing Department of St Lucas University College of Art and Design Antwerp). In her work, Visser focuses regularly on aspects of registration, representation, presentation and identity. How do context and meaning relate in terms of presentation? How does the artist perceive him-/herself? What is real, what is fake? These and other questions will form the base of a workshop resulting in a presentation moment. This Masterclass is open for students of all disciplines, with an interest in aspects of presentation and representation.
