Lectures & exhibition / Triple Parade 2015, Tianjin, China
From 19 May till 29 May, the Jewellery department of St Lucas Antwerp took part in Triple Parade, an international jewellery festival that ran during the Tianjin Design Week. Triple Parade consisted of an exhibition, a symposium, two keynote lectures and two workshops.
Liesbet Bussche, researcher at the department, gave two lectures in one at the symposium, about her work and about the research projects of St Lucas Antwerp. She also led one of the two workshops: 'CH-ewellery, the Chinese archetypes'. Hilde De Decker, head of the Jewellery Design department and project leader of the Belgian part of Triple Parade, presented the department at the symposium.
A Dialogue Across Three Lands on Contemporary Jewellery in cooperation with Kuopio Academy of Design / Savonia University of Applied Sciences, St Lucas University College of Art & Design Antwerp, Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. The Central exhibition titled \'Dialogue\', covering three spheres of jewellery, is giving a positive view into the developments of contemporary jewellery design with a focus on three countries – Belgium, Finland, China. It presents a selection of the country’s newest jewellery design ideas through a mixture of established and emerging designers, known for its forward-thinking and inspiring exhibitors. The selection of designers and artists is made by the project leaders: Hilde De Decker for Belgium, Eija Tanninen for Finland, and Dongdong Zhuang for China.
The festival is organized by Studio Jie Sun, in collaboration with the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.
