You are kindly invited to the lecture given by Naomi Filmer on Tuesday 8 December at 19:00 (Sint-Jozefstraat 35, 2018 Antwerp). Naomi Filmer (UK) is walking the path of wearable objects. Her objects are related to the body as much as to space. She studied 3D design and completed a master’s in jewellery design and goldsmithing. Besides her own artistic practice, Naomi Filmer works as a researcher and teacher at Central St Martins (BA Jewellery Design) and the London College of Fashion (MA Fashion Artefact)b - both are part of UAL in London.

During the week of the lecture, Naomi will give a master class at St Lucas Antwerp. Inspired by a performance of Boris Charmatz, she developed a master class for the Jewellery Design department. The master class is related to the current research project ‘Speaking Jewellery’, as speaking draws attention to the mouth. With the focus on the mouth, Naomi Filmer wants to work on the large number of associations and sensations connected to this body part. During the lecture, Naomi will talk about her personal work, processes and fascinations.
