During the opening weekend of the new Antwerp diamond museum DIVA, students of Studio sieraad and the research platform Precious Dialogue of St Lucas School of Arts Antwerp present 'From Walter to DIVA'. In a walking exhibition, they show jewellery made with chains of Walter Fischer, one of the largest manufacturers in the world of industrially produced chains.

The chain is an endless series of interconnected links that is rather insignificant in contemporary jewellery. It primarily has a supporting function, for example, as a carrier of a pendant. In ‘From Walter to DIVA’, it takes centre stage. Students, Belgian and international designers have examined the concept of 'jewelleryness' in their work: what are the artistic qualities, such as wearability, glance or detailing, that make an object into a piece of jewellery?
